Residential Carpenter Foreman
Location: Austin, TX — field-based
Project area: Regular travel to active project sites throughout Austin, Lake Travis, Bee Cave, Lakeway, Dripping Springs, and nearby Hill Country communities.

We are seeking a skilled Residential Carpenter Foreman to lead carpentry activities and support field operations across high-end custom residential projects. This hands-on leadership position will coordinate carpenters and assigned labor, interpret detailed plans, plan daily work, and ensure that installations meet exacting quality standards. The right candidate is an experienced craftsperson who leads by example, communicates clearly, and takes pride in both the work and the condition of the jobsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate carpenters and assigned field personnel.
- Review architectural plans, details, specifications, and daily work priorities.
- Perform and supervise framing, blocking, trim, cabinetry support, punch work, and other carpentry tasks.
- Lay out work accurately and verify dimensions, elevations, alignment, and finish quality.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor productivity, workmanship, and completion.
- Coordinate carpentry activities with the Superintendent and other trade partners.
- Identify field conflicts and communicate potential solutions before work proceeds.
- Estimate labor and material requirements for assigned work.
- Confirm that required tools, materials, and equipment are available when needed.
- Enforce jobsite safety procedures and proper use of tools and equipment.
- Protect completed work and maintain a clean, organized jobsite.
- Train and mentor less-experienced carpenters.
- Complete punch-list and corrective work to company standards.
Qualifications
- At least five years of residential carpentry experience; luxury custom home experience strongly preferred.
- Previous experience leading carpenters or small field crews.
- Strong knowledge of framing, interior and exterior finish carpentry, and residential construction sequencing.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings and detailed construction documents.
- Proficiency with common hand, power, and layout tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality finished work.
- Practical problem-solving and clear communication skills.
- Ability to perform the essential physical duties of the position, including lifting and carrying materials, climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, and working at active construction sites in varying weather conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for regular travel between active project sites.
- OSHA training or relevant trade certification is a plus.
